lol...my kitten only scratches me when he plays roughly wit me..but i nvr hear him do dat nom nom nom sound..unless i gv him chicken...if da dry food, he just eats it like normal..

Hey, you do the same thing with dogs. Give them food and take it away so they wont get all defensive about it.

@JuanMamaril That's why you do this when they are young, so they are socialized and know that YOU are their master. Anyone who is "clawed" by their own animal for simply touching them, shouldn't own a damn animal.

I have 3 cats, petting a kitten while it's eating is fine. We have to let them know that it's ok to be touched by their owners, no matter what they're doing at the time.
All kittens I've seen so far do the 'nom nom' sound or growl if they think somebody might take away their food.
This kitty was given a fish bigger than him and is enjoying it, nobody's mean or cruel to it.
As for my cats... they're all happy, act like dogs and follow me everywhere.
Train them while they're young. =)
