Before Cyndi Lauper, Amore, Live Aid and the record contract from Columbia, the Hooters were tearing it up on the stages of night clubs and high schools all around the Philly area. Add to that a strong support of radio airplay from 93.3 WMMR, they built quite a following of fans. Here's a clip from that very exciting era featuring the original line-up of Rob Hyman-keyboards/hooter, Eric Bazilian-guitar/sax, David Uosikkinen-drums, John Kuzma/guitar & Bobby Woods/bass. October 1982, The Brandywine Club, Chadds Ford, PA.

  • Thanks for posting this. That's Bobby Woods(?) on bass. To me, great snapshot of the Hooters in their prime. This looks like it is from the broadcast on cable of the 10/13/82(?) show from the Brandywine Club, pieces of which have been circulated on DIME. Trent, any chance you can up the whole thing to DIME? Incidently, Hooters fans should check out the Melodica yahoo group. I've gotten some great old Hooters shows of audio from other generous fans.

  • Yes, that is Bobby Woods on bass, he and John Kuzma played together in the legendary Asbury Park band The Shakes (one time house band at the Stone Pony...check the liner notes on the 1st Jukes album, for the mention) Check out Vmix (search for: Hooters), David Uosikkinen is the owner of Vmix, so I posted a few more from the show there, plus a couple of other things I dug up.

  • I mostly liked the Hooters because I thought Eric Bazilian was cute.

  • Where was this shot? I still have one of those Hooters signs that are on the amps. Got mine at Bucks County Community College show for Halloween 1980.
