I was visiting Galveston and arrieved around 5:30pm. I noticed the area of thunderstorms to the East before sunset.
I was in the area of The Flag Ship Hotel around 9-10pm. I drove to East Beach and noticed severe cloud to ground lightning around 10. The storms were heading West and Southwest some Northwest.
I looked up and saw the top of the super cell just over me it looked like a big flower.
I am a storm spotter; I didn't call it in because it was not severe at East Beach.
