Hey, I do very much like studio /quad because it's metallica tone for not much money, most simmilar to Mark IIc+ is this preamp witha 50/50 power amp. Did you play preamp or Mark iic+ on 1:30, because it was best tone ever :D

@dhaupin durable too....in that 10 years, multiple tours, studios, etc it never failed. Nothing has ever broke except a reverb tank spring....but that happened in shipping the preamp when i first bought it.

Owned one for about 10 years. This is an epic preamp. Pretty cheap too. Plays very nice with a mesa 50/50 :)
Viewer be informed though, sometimes the recording outs on the studio pre are a bit colorful....or something. On mine, eq settings which sound good on direct out, sound way different in speaker out or vice versa, making direct out awkward to use mic/live.
Maybe its just my unit though, dunno :)

nice crunchy sounds very crispy, i really enjoy it because it really sound like alexi´s tone on older cob albums and sinergy :)

Just got this today! Tried it out and loved it. Mine has the Blue/Grey eq compared to the black? Heard that its an older version? Is this true? Great playing man. The Metallica tone is ridiculous

I see you have another poweramp then a boogie. Have you tried one and is their a real difference with tone with poweramps? sounds killer !!

man i have that same js1000! mines from '98 and made in japan. amazing guitar. served me well over the years, my uncle gave it to me for free!!
