@heomak Yeah your right that guy is wrong. Slumdog Millionaire wasn't racist. Infact I think it broke a lot of stereotypes people generally have about India. Due to racist Western Media people always thought of generally as India being cow worshipping, brown Apu Guys 'Thankyou Come Again' Etc. And this film made them realise it's a real place with real people - And not these stupid stereotypes which people confide them too. It made people respect India a lot more in that aspect.

@danncingpenny123 India has a very unique/interesting culture 100% distinct from anywhere else in the world in every single way. So to see more films which could appeal to world audiences instead of these silly 'all song, dance' with no storyline movies would be great. It beats slumdog millionaire by a million miles for sure.
BTW what race are you & how did you come across the movie if you don't mind me asking?

I have no relation to any middle eastern/south asian people, I live on the other side of the world from India, Cant speak Hindi to save my life, and I LOVE THIS MOVIE TO DEATH!

@gladitsmonday in the original too, iago gives reason to destroy othello and cassio. its also in his nature to have the reasons he did.

@Mrjustmean Some superficial details are changed so that it makes more sense in modern Indian context. Like instead of being a moor the main character is a half-caste. Also Iago actually has a good reason for wanting to destroy Othello in this version, unlike the original where it was unexplained. A lot of people consider this an improvement to the original story though. You should definitely check it out!
