Oke man thanks!!

Yes. Landing in Delhi from Hong Kong or Shanghai we were usually very heavy, close to the 222 tons Maximum Landing Weight. Speeds were around 165 knots.

Ciao, si, ci conosciamo, anche se un volo con lui non l'ho mai fatto. Poi ci siamo visti ad Hong Kong un paio di volte l'ultimo periodo dell'!! in AZ.

Nice to see VIDP's new runway. They have totally changed the place! And that displaced threshold is so long. They really had to squeeze that runway into that tight spot.

Hi. It's been a while now since I came to Delhi. I'm curious about the new terminal building, is it operational now?
cheers

nice landing and video!!
why is the threshold so long??

Thanks! Thresholds are usually displaced when obstacles before the runways prevent the use of a standard 3 degrees descent path. Rather than a steeper path, you move threshold and touchdown point further down along the runway. Remember landing distances are generally much shorter than takeoff distances, so it's most often not such a big issue.
