  • Someone on Buzzfeed said it best. "Hipster musicians hate jazz musicians, the original hipsters, because it reminds them that they are actually just awkward looking, caucasian, nuclear-family ex-suburbanites who suck at music so they play accordion ironically in a punk band where talent is irrelevant to the goal, which is to rebel, against hipper, well-practiced musicians, as seen here in exhibit A."

  • @waitwhatwasthat especially when the accordion player is totally white, not black or anything..good call on these racist distinctions about musical ability, asshole

  • For what it's worth, I have never met a jazz boyfriend who wasn't an awkward looking, caucasian, nuclear-family* ex-suburbanite who sucked at music and spent a majority of his time making self-righteously reactionary comments on youtube. Just saying. Run and tell that.

    *not an adjective.

  • What's worse than a jazz boyfriend? A whiny pseudo-indie chick girlfriend. Now that's shitty music.

  • hahaha anyone who rejects an entire "genre" of music is no musician

  • As a jazz musician with lots of jazz musician friends who circulated this to me on Facebook I can tell you we LOVE this song! (and yes our talk can be totally boring unless you are also a jazz nerd!)

  • a pleasant surprise, an interesting sound, and a wild outfit. I give Mindtroll many thumbs upward

  • eleven people are jazz boyfriends.

  • @laserpilot ZING!

  • Having read most if not all of the comments, I'd like to suggest that most of the users have really missed the core point of this presentation, a purely female perspective. Jazz has always been will probably stay traditionally male, macho pursuit, and the song and the way it's presented is really just a tongue-in-the-cheek female response to that. It's really NOT about Jazz!!!

  • Since you guys are teenagers (or barely out of your teens) I'll cut you some slack.

When you grow up, hopefully you'll discover that jazz is one of the highest art forms ever created ( if you have an iota of intelligence you'll eventually realize this). Unlike the *objectively* horrendous cacophony displayed by your so-called 'band', playing jazz requires musical talent AND years of study.

It's sad that a group of talentless people need to belittle an art form they can't even understand.
