@gypsyprincess713 Ben Barnes wasn't bad, but I found the 2009 version he played in horribly directed and not well written.

Lord Henrys comments, like the original, are paradoxical and interesting but would anyone really respond in such a way after a death unless they were a chronic sociopath? I shouldn't really read into it because, as Wilde himself said, its all about the artifice and only shallow people don't care about appearances. Wilde himself despised the realist genre of his day so I suppose you can't expect much more, but I always felt Lord Henrys reaction unsettles the plot rather than enhances it.

@AtheistAnarchoRudi Crime is for the lower classes. Henry would never stoop so low.
-

Firth was far better looking than the ugly, overacting homosexual nutter Jeremy Brett.
-
I found the link to this posted on imdb with "Also want to see a Dorian who can't act? Watch this.". Lol, so true... That's one terrible Dorian... Physical unattractiveness aside, his facial expression and body language fail miserably :D. I'd hit that... with a baseball bat!

I'm an artist, and Jeremy Brett is my Dorian Grey.
-
Huh?
-
The way Basil says Dorian sounds like he is saying darling.
-
Haha, Dorian has the face as me in profile. Not really portraying the Dorian Gray beauty here is it?
-
Oh mY Gosh:: Dorian is Gilderoy Lockhart LOLLLL
-
lolol even though there is no evidence for this it could be that henry killed sybil. the reason being that looking back henry could very well purposefully be trying to corrupt dorian. although it is never said explicitly in the novel that he is doing that. the whole book is ambiguous.
They're dandies, it was the nineteenth century equivalent of 'metrosexual.' Dorian in the novel was meant to be ambiguously bisexual.
