@unionguy36 You know what, I actually had already been informedof this, but forgot. My mistake, and thanks for the correction. Can I cover my butt by saying Woodie sang and informed his audiences of the great injustices in the system, and Natalie does the same, so I was part correct :)

Yes, but this is not a Woody Guthrie song. It was written by Florence Reese, wife of activist union miner in Harlan County, Kentucky, in her anger after deputy sheriffs (the thugs for Sheriff J.H. Blair mentioned in the song ) ransacked her house and terrorized her children during a coal strike in 1931. The deputies were hunting for her husband, whom they probably would have killed if they'd found him.
A simple song, but one of the greatest expressions of working class resistance.
