I don't think Pierce is really Johning. He is simply stating how he feels about his performance. Like...imagine you are a racer, and you KNOW how fast you can run. But you have a really bad day and run really slow, but people are commenting on it. Some people feel the need to express to people, and themselves how they can actually perform. It's not a john. People have to learn to except that the end result of a match is a result of tiny happenings which are worth discussing.

If you want comments on what you did wrong I could say a lot of things. I think you misunderstand people's "wow" as you except some sort of cold handed approach.

And saying 'Great Playing' is also contextual. In the context of watching the opponent's abilities at the time and yours at the time, it was, quite great playing.
