Great race, great video, great coverage, great to see this here. The race was the first world class field ever at the distance to later become known as Olympic distance (1.5-40-10). Lance was a couple weeks short of his 16th birthday. Super on the swim and bike (he tells Pigg to f-off in the video lol!!). Faded on the run to 11th (would have been around 16th-18th, if not for the disqualifications). See his running form here at 5:00 (yikes!!). That won't do at Kona for 42.2k.

I wonder what ever happened to the Armstrong kid. I've done some google searches on him. Can't find anything. He must have burned out. Anyone know?

Mike Pigg your a tit, theres no need to speak to a official like that

Go easy on Mike Pigg ... he's a nice guy. I met him once. Its the heat and stress of the race, that makes tempers flare.
maybe all the officials are just idiots in this.

@OneManShowShow if your talking about drafting etc the rules were lots different then they could ride side by side and the zone was not as long as it is now lots of differences. That said tinley ,Dave Scott and some others got DQ'd so they were doing their job.
Also note we(I did this race) rode on the left side of the road which they do in bermuda.
