  • Wow, amazing player mate, how does these pickups handle hi-gain levels? they feedback and hum, or they are just as quiet as any humbucker?

  • @radekxito If anything, they are less susceptible to squealing because of the lower output. They will feed back musically, and the hum level is lower than any of my humbuckers. It's the quietest guitar I own. Thanks for checking out the video!

  • Very nice demo and tone......250k or 500k pots, do you know?

  • @jimclip2012 We ended up with 500K pots. I actually tried 1MG pots but they were way too bright for me. Thanks!

  • @ejm909 Thanks for the response on that. One other question....what are you playing through? Looks like a rack system behind you. Again, GREAT tone.....I was going to jump on a set of Areas but was a little reluctant b/c I questioned whether they could get mean enough when desired, but your video has eased that concern somewhat. Still considering an Injector in the bridge though.

  • @jimclip2012 The rack is the Mesa boogie Triaxis and Simul 2:90 Power Amp. I have a GSP2101 Artist processor in there for a little delay, and I'm Eqing out just a little of the high mids from the triaxis. The middle pickup is really where you get your brightness from in the split positions, so if you are looking for a lot of snap and clarity from the strings i recommend the Area 67 there. In my opinion the Injector might make for a better bridge pickup, but it's great, too.

    Those Dimarzios are very articulate.

    Cool demo.

  • @belt432 Thanks man! I think the closest we've gotten to recording a jam like that is on the track "Thanotopsis" on my last record. Rob and I exchange leads in the solo section. He also plays a bit of melody at the end, too.

  • Nice demo Ethan, great guitar playin. It would be so cool to see you and Rob do some lick trade offs and harmonies together.

  • do more demos man. your a good presenter.
