This would be my last 8mm movie. Only this time I'd purchased a sound 8mm system. It was VERY rudimentary and about 2 years before home video hit the scene. The sound quality has degraded since 1981. We used copyrighted movie sound track music back then because we knew no one but us was ever going to see these films (so much for our ability to see the future). I would have loved to re-edit the sound track for this film and take out the music but it's all intertwined with the voice audio so there's no way for me to fix it. My apologies to the copyright owners. My only excuse is that this is just an amateur film, we never tried to make any money with it. It's just us friends running around having fun.
This is a little Zombie movie very much inspired by the George Romero zombie movies.
This movie has some of the WORST dialogue I ever wrote for one of our movies! Especially the part where my friend Alan is talking about having been in the Viet Nam war and freezing up at critical moments. That's just HORRIBLE and it's only in there because like, 5 minutes later he freezes up at a critical moment and gets killed by Zombies. I cringe every time I watch that part. Clearly Alan was NEVER in the Viet Nam war. Sorry 'bout that my friend...
Everything that could have possibly gone wrong while making a movie, did. It took us over 9 months to finish this thing. First we lost the big house for our set that the script was written for and then it went crashing downhill from there. However we did finish the movie.
I stopped making monster movies after this and got into shooting Sprint car racing throughout the 80's and into the 90's.
In 2009 we started making new monster movies again after a lay off of 28 years.
@sterlingholobyte Thanks man. It's hard for me to be objective about this one because so many things went wrong. Originally we had a nice little script about the small band of survivors that stayed INSIDE a single house for 97% of the movie. Then we lost the location for that and then everything that could possibly go wrong, did. I enjoy the film because it brings back friends and places, but I know what the movie should have been but isn't. I'm glad you had some fun with it however :)

I am not used to watching one of your old movies without your witty commentary.
But I like the movie! The soundtrack really adds to the movie as well.
I tend to judge these older amateur movies by the question of whether it looks like one of those movies I used to find on tv late at night back when I was growing up. And this one I definitely could see it as one of those movies. Very well done!
