60-0 mph brake test result: 89 feet, an improvement of at least 23 to 29 feet over stock Mazda 3s brakes. These are test attempts 4 though 6.
2008 Mazda 3s (2.3 liter) Touring sedan: Upgraded with an OEM big brake kit (Mazdaspeed 3 front and Mazda 5 rear brakes), Koni FSD, & staggered Continental ExtremeContact DW summer tires (225/50/16 front 205/55/16 rear). Using OEM Mazdaspeed 3 brake pads front, Akebono Euro Ultra-Premium Ceramic pads in the rear. Slotted DBA 4000 Series rotors in front and slotted R1 Concepts/Centric Premium rotors in the back. Goodridge stainless steel braided brake lines and ATE Super Blue or Type 200 Amber brake fluid round out the brake upgrades. Ambient temperature was 52 degrees F, empty gas tank. Wheels aligned 3 months before with zero degrees of toe front and rear. Suspension is NOT lowered.
For reference an average car stops 60-0 mph in 130-125 feet. A stock midrange Mazda 3s (2.3 liter) stops in 118 to 112 feet. 2007-2009 Mazdaspeed 3's stop in 112 feet. Mazda Miatas/MX-5's and RX-8's stop in 111 feet. Ferrari 430 Scuderias and Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Carbon Editions stop in 93 feet. See:
