MEET CANDICE SIMPSON
Candice Simpson stands by the belief that "what cannot be said through words can be spoken through movement". Dance has given her the opportunity to express herself in ways that words have often failed, and she hopes to give the same opportunity to anyone she gets to works with.

Born and raised in Montreal, Canada, Candice was introduced to the dance industry at a very young age. At only 4 years old, she began to experiment with music through figure skating. She continued to figure skate until the age of sixteen, gaining countless awards and recognition. Candice gravitated to the art of dance at the age of seventeen, and immediately knew that this was the field for her. Through the dance company Da Angelo Dance Productions, headed by Angelo Ameur, Candice had the chance to feed her new found talent for hip hop, and from there, there was no stopping her. She went on to train at 8 Count Dance Center, where she worked with choreographers such as Steve Bolton, Sonia Clarke and Wynn Holmes, among others. While at 8 Count, Candice was given the opportunity to coach performance teams and teach classes, and from there she soon discovered that choreographing and teaching were her true passions.

Some of Candice's proudest moments include coaching and choreographing for the 2007 World Hip Hop Champions. Her work has also been showcased on Global TV, Canadian Idol, Musique Plus, Gala Des Gemeaux, and at the premiere for the movie Step Up 2 The Streets. Her knowledge of the dance industry proved to be an asset when Candice was asked to judge the 2008 Canadian Hip Hop Championships. Most recently, Candice had the privilege of showcasing her work at the 2010 Toronto's Choreographer's Ball, and at "Gloria's Girls" event alongside So You Think You Can Dance Canada's top 3 contestants. This summer, Candice is very excited to announce that her work will be featured in Los Angeles' Choreographer's Ball, Carnival, and while in L.A she will be teaching her very first Boogiezone Class.

Candice continuously strives to bring a new dimension to teaching dance by linking dance moves to emotional experience. Two years ago, she took her talent to another level by affiliating herself with the
Vision of Hope Charity and produced her first show, ENIGMA. She decided to produce this show in order to spread awareness through the universal language of dance. In the past two years, ENIGMA has raised 140 000$ for the oncology ward, has performed to two sold out audiences, has been recognized by several newspapers and radio stations, including, USA TODAY, Broadwayworld.com, the Montreal Gazette, and Q92 to name a few; and has had the privilege of featuring dancers from So You Think You Can Dance, and choreography by stage and screen veterans Taye Diggs and Andrew Palermo. Candice is very proud of Enigma's success and looks forward to what the future holds for both herself and ENIGMA.
