  • Why did Steve Nesbitt say 'Houston is now controlling' twice?

  • @ceredigio He stopped himself from talking over capcom at first

  • @3210andLiftoff You can (just) hear the capcom (on that occasion Scott Horowitz) beginning to say 'roger roll atlantis' just before Nesbitts first 'Houston now controlling'

  • i also saw this from the causeway - easily the most impressive man-made spectacle i've ever seen

  • I watched this launch from the Kennedy Space Centre causeway - Stunning!

  • I was born on this day :)

  • I remember staying up to watch this when I was 12 years old. Thanks for posting this.

  • You can hear the Atlas launch commentator as a MCC commentator for STS-86. Strange isn't it?

  • This was the only other post-Challenger ascent Steve Nesbitt did apart from STS-26.
