CNN: Bloomberg Endorses VA Sen Devolites-Davis

CNN's Wolf Blitzer's in The Situation Room: Bloomberg's Battle Over Guns, NYC Mayor Jumps into VA Politics.

NYC Mayor endorses VA State Senator Jeannemarie Devolites Davis because of her support for gun control policies. Virginia Citizens Defense League President, Philip Van Cleave, is also interviewed. Davis' opponent, former VA Delegate Chap Petersen, is quoted as accusing Davis of flip-flopping on the issue.

Well Lamont, I hope Peterson does a much better job than that hippocryte Spitzer. If he does the right thing and backs peoples constitutional rights, he will have a great deal of my respect.

I agree 100 percent, however, BUM-BERG does not make the law in the state, just here in NYC unfortunately for us. Hopefully this guy paterson will put pressure on him to get out of our way and we can have concealed carry.

So much wrong with this. #1, if Bloomberg is so insistent that this is a Fed issue then why is he messing with VA? #2, Chap Peterson is right to believe that localities should have no right to pass gun laws that are stricter than what comes from Richmond. #3, There is no "gun show loophole". There is simply no Federal law which requires a NCICS check in private sales. NOTHING can happen at a gun show in VA than cannot happen anywhere else in the State. I hope Devolites likes being unemployed.

If Mayor Bloomberg isn't against lawful citizens from owning guns and says he is not against the 2nd Amendment of the constitution, then why doesn't he allow the people of his state to conceal carry for thier own protection when they do in 40 other states of the country? As a New York NRA supporting resident, I just don't think it is fair and constitutional.
