This song, For My Father, by Andy McKee has always put a smile on my face. After being dumped this morning by this German girl I was seeing lately I needed to get myself in a good mood by playing this song :(
The other reason for me playing this is also because I am fortunate to be able to see Andy McKee live here in Germany, near Frankfurt at the end of April 09.
In order to prepare myself for the live show, I bought his "The Gates of Gnomeria" album last week. His songs on that album are JUST as good as the ones on the "Art of Motion" album, I can assure you. If you were pleased with his songs on the AoM one, I can guarantee you will like his new album.
You can purchase tablature and albums of Andy McKee on www.candyrat.com, cause that is where I got mine 3 weeks ago.
As for my performance in this vid, I am well aware of the various flaws :) But, since it put me back in a good mood I just recorded the one shot I made. Hopefully I do not annoy you with too much smilling. The song has that effect on me :)
Anyhow, enjoy if you can!
Update: Sorry, but just realized when listening to it on Youtube that it's horribly out of tune! I probably should have done another take, but the aim of it was to put me in a good mood, and so it did :)
