@mariokartcollector that sounds like it stinks! we have (in our symphonic band) 11 clarinets, 6 flutes, 9 trumpets, 4 horns, 7 trombones, 3 euphoniums, 7 alto saxes, 1 tenor sax, 1 bari sax, 2 bassoons, 2 oboes, (one serves as an english horn sometimes) 1 bass clarinet,(sometimes we have a contra) and 6 tubas. and thats just the band you have to audition for.

@Uptheirons6six6 haha, well, my high school only has 1 alto sax, 1 tenor sax, 1 baritone sax, 2 trumpets, 3 flutes, 1 clarinet, and a Euphonium (me)... Having a small band sucks especially since last year my high school had a lot of members!

@Heartlover1717 O then I've heard wrong thanks for telling me who it was by
-
@Heartlover1717 true true but they usually are used in marching bands but then again wasnt this made by john philip sousa creator of the sousaphone?
-
uhhh why is there a sousa
-
our high school band had to turn in our music so i dont get to keep it! it's also a great song, i play the saxophone

@Uptheirons6six6 That's actually not a half bad sized band - You've got a good amount of woodwinds (although there shouldn't be six alto saxes, 2 is enough for even a symphony band) and pretty much all parts of the harmonies and the like should be covered. The only thing maybe missing is a trombone and then you'd be able to play most beginner concert band repertoire.

Remember it's meant for troops to march to at a steady rate, to get them where they're going in good time. Also, any slower and it would start getting funeralistic on the parade ground.

Do you know it by... Sidney Bechet ?

What are you talking about, this is a good song.
