Every year, Omaha Christian Academy (OCA) organizes a Servathon. They send their students out in the community to take part in a variety of ministry activities. They view this as a win, win, win because the community benefits, students of all ages (Kindergarten through High School) learn to put their faith into action by performing civic duties for the common good and it provides financial support for the school.
This year Servathon was scheduled on Wed., Oct. 19th. On this day, OCA students (pre-school through 12th grades), teachers, staff and volunteers engaged in hands-on service project demonstrating servant leadership and good citizenship. A few of these projects were singing at a local nursing / retirement home; cooking and delivering food for the infirm; maintenance and cleaning projects; serving the homeless; and assisting area Christian ministries.
