I wouldn"t be caught dead in a Pacer,I"d die of embarassment if I was seen driving one. I"d rather drive a Rambler than a Pacer.

Okay, yeah, the AMC Pacer was probably the ugliest (and yes I said ugliest) car there ever was, and I don't know why Ford wanted to get Mercury involved with the Pinto, but the Pinto was my favorite first car. No no no Vega or worse yet Chevette or Pacer or Gremlin. Come on! I'm just saying.

As an Australian looking in, I can only think, don't tell me somebody's actually proud of owning an AMC Pacer!

AMC Pacer- out of Kenosha, Wisconsin, not Detroit.

I remember the fishbowl on wheels! The AMC Pacer was a misbegotten creature designed for a rotary engine that failed to show up. The front seat was great but the back was clearly a half-assed afterthought due to lack of money for further development. AMC had too much money sunk into the Pacer as it was intended and couldn't afford to redo the beast.

Man, these look great! Since car enthusiasts tend to like performance cars and convertibles, that's usually what's preserved, so it's good to see some everyday cars from that era. Thanks!

They are so fun....you must get one and drive to the local cruise...you get the scoffs from muscle car folks and a nod from the real people there to see cars!
