This site lets users search by location or various categories, and even uses Google maps to place the location the item was found. Some other sites to note include one specifically for finding shoes as well as ‘The Lost Car Registry’ for owners who’d like to find their sold vehicle. With a quick online look, it seems there is a lost-and-found site for just about everyone and everything.
