@83RS We had similar in the UK, it last one year! Any cars over 10 years old qualified for up to £2500 towards a NEW car. People prefer to keep older reliable cars and not have dealerships putting the price up first by £2500!!! It is terrible to see so many cars going this way. The scheme in the UK was scrapped as it wasn't popular. People don't have £15,000+ to get a new car, especially when a £5000 car is far better built.

Its NOT the person destroying the car. Its the STUPID idea that the ONLY way those stupid car dealers will get the $3500 or $4500 is to SUBMIT the car to the junkyard. Otherwise that dealer WONT get his $3500 or $4500
