I'm guessing the Oil Sands projects this film refers to are too far north to be seen in this satelite photo. The dark spot at 4 o'clock from centre might be Great Salt Lake, if that's what we're supposed to be looking at.

There is a very strong case against tar sands development, but we have to also acknowledge that "we the people" of the U.S. and Canada are the biggest users of Exxon Mobil products.  Stopping these developments means higher fuel costs and/or less access to fossil fuels - for us.

Exxon isnt the only player up in Fort McMurray.  There are plenty more. The other thing is, the oil sands are not the biggest problem right now. The biggest problem is Americans and their gov't. Americans have allowed their own gov't to be hi jacked. Fix that problem first and then problems like the oil sands will not be problems anymore. The rest of the world depends on it.
