I love people who right paragraphs thinking that someone will actually read it.

No wonder the world is going to shit. We are presented a video simply describing a long complicated process which we are all apart of and you argue about who makes the best point. In the end fact is fact and your ideas and beliefs will be taken with you to your grave.

@growl2222 Your obviously not speaking on behalf of the two billion people in the world who living on under $1 a day

Too bad they don't have "flamer" retardant for provocative videos. Be nice to see someone bouncing into action because "someone is wrong on the internet" without browbeating us with words like "hypocrisy" and "hysteria." I may feel the same way about nuclear weapons and the rationales behind them, but I don't seek out wing-nut sites in order to spew contempt and derision. If you can't handle difference of opinion with politeness, stay the fuck away.

and yet we live longer than ever, better than ever.

No matter how many times you stamp your feet, it isn't going to make your example of recycling any more relevant to the subject of hypocrisy.
Why are you just ignoring my claims of hypocrisy? Why can't you indulge me, and at least ATTEMPT to bother having the same conversation I am?
Do you think the subject of hypocrisy is completely irrelevant to the subject of environmental hysteria?
Seriously?
Do a google search for "carbon credits", then try saying that.

We're all consumers. That's a fact. The message from these anti-consumerism videos is consume less and to try to consume in a manner that isn't needlessly raping the planet of it's resources if possible.
You seem to have totally ignored my relevant story of passing on obsolete PCs rather than dumping them and purchasing brand new ones. Maybe I should have involved puppies somehow.
Anyway, as your lack of basic maths skills indicates a low intelligience, I'll leave you to it. Toodle pip!
-
Your analogy bears no relevance at all to the debate of rampant consumersism. No-one and no puppies wil die from purchasing 1 computer. I'm sick of people trying to point out an hypocrisy that isn't there of anti-consumerists using a PC to get their message across. Do you expect them to use an old school mailshot to the entire world? No, you wouldn't. That would be ridiculous. Just like your bullshit analogy!
I bet this woman is an absolute peach to spend a day with.
I guess the irony of complaining about a toxic chemical inside of computers on a video distributed over the internet was a little over her head.

@cpobeck You missed the point completely. BFR's are supposed to prevent pillows from catching fire. Her point was that since so few people actually catch fire this way, perhaps pillow manufacturers shouldnt be dousing their fabric in BFRs. She's basically making the same point you are, but unfortunately you are programmed to think that she hates America because she criticizes it, which happens to be a right Americans have.
