No, there is a DCC mode in trainz, it's not just a real life simulator it's also a model railroad simulator. Have you ever used trainz (not being rude at all)? It really is there, it might be that your version has the realistic controls on default. You can switch to DCC mode if you wish, and a lot of people use DCC for beginning purposes. In surveyor try going into editing driver commands and switch DCC mode on.

Cool! DCC means Digital Command & Control in the model train community. Sorry for the mix up. I didn't realize that feature existed in Trainz. I'll give that a try next time I run it. Thanks!
