is it possible without the wireless receiver? like download the drivers, then hook up the wire and you're done?

so i got the wirless receiver, mac drivers, and gamepad companion. the first time i set it up (with GH:WT drums) i was having some bad latency issues. the second time, PERFECT, and awesome. third time im back to having issues. anyone else had similar issue/ no how to fix it? i have no idea what was different the time it was perfect. i am playing the drums in garagband.

really nice vid man! i use ableton myself (on PC).. just switched to a mac, do you know where i can download ableton live 8 for mac?
