@KatiePuckrikSmells Oh yay, I will be sure to check it out! Thanks so much! I can't wait to sample that one :)

@scramwag Oh gosh, this video's from 2 years ago - I'm not sure, but it looks like it was either a Korres gloss called Natural Purple (25) or maybe Bobbi Brown Pink Beige.

Could you tell me what brand and colour of lipstick you are wearing here, I have been looking for similar for ages but no joy. Thanks very much

Hi Katie, I just found your channel and wanted to get your opinion....I wanted to get a sexy 60s style, oriental perfume but was worried about Shalimar being too overwhelming/musky for everyday wear. Do you have any recommendations for an oriental perfume or something gardenia or patchoulli-ish (that is still young and not cloaked in a heavy smell)? Would you recommend Miller Harris' Fleur Oriental? Thanks so much!

@dreamweaver659 Yes, Fleur Oriental is a lovely contemporary spin on the Shalimar model (more sheer, less leather), and so is Prada L'Eau Ambrée (even lighter than Fleur Oriental). It's tricky to find a gardenia/tuberose on the lighter side, but here are some great ones: Van Cleef & Arpels Gardenia Petale and Tom Ford Black Orchid Voile de Fleur (discontinued but still available online).

@KatiePuckrikSmells Thanks, Katie! I think I am going to try Fleur Oriental..it sounds like everything I am looking for (although I can't seem to find anywhere that actually carries it, hopefully I will like it if I buy online). Have you heard of either Le Labo (they make an oriental-Poudre D'Orient) or Honores Des Pres (Chaman's Party-although, I think that is more woodsy)? I am kind of interested in finding a more natural oriental, but those are the only brands I have found thus far. Thanks :)

@dreamweaver659 Miller Harris used to be carried at Bloomies, but it seems to have been phased out. LuckyScent carries the line, you can order a sample there (you can get a samp there of VC&A Gardenia Petale while you're at it. MH also has a gardenia perfume, too). Le Labo Poudre D'Orient is a good idea, too, but HdP Chamen's Party is very smoky/woody vetiver, not in the area of what you're looking for.

@KatiePuckrikSmells Thanks for the help, that is a great idea...going to order my samples now :) You're right about the Honores des Pres Chaman's Party, I changed my mind about that one after reading reviews.... too bad they don't do an oriental, I was interested in their 100% natural concept.

@dreamweaver659 Check out Aftelier Perfumes for their natural fragrances. I reviewed Aftelier's lovely oriental, Secret Garden, on my blog. Click on "Fragrance Names" on the front page of my channel and go from there to read it.
