My name is James and I work on NCL America's cruise ship the Pride Of America. I'm a receptionist at the front desk in the hotel department. The ship does 7 day cruises around the Hawaiian Islands with ports of call in Honolulu, Maui, Kona, Hilo and Kauai Hawaii.

Before I worked in the front office I was a waiter working on the ship. Over the past two years I went to the F3's (Norwegian Epic) keel laying at the ship yard, Aker Yards, and on a cruise on the Norwegian Jade.

The Pride Of America is the first US flagged ship in several decades. It's past sister ships were the Pride Of Aloha and Pride Of Hawaii.

The other ships in Norwegian Cruise Line's fleet are the Norwegian Sky, Norwegian Sun, Norwegian Spirit, Norwegian Majesty, Norwegian Star, Norwegian Dawn, Norwegian Jewel, Norwegian Jade, Norwegian Pearl and the Norwegian Gem. The next generation of Freestyle cruising kicks off with the Norwegian Epic in 2010.

do you guys still go to fanning island? by the way im an ex-ncl. used to be with the norwegian wind and the wind is already the sagittarius here in singapore..yes,she's here.....its really nostalgic whenever i see her sailing along the coast of sentosa island...

Nope currently we are not. I took the Wind down to fanning in Feb 2007 (as a passenger) and loved it. The sea conditions were the worst I ever felt on the way back though.

@Mandy8580 You should buy the e-book "Experts Guide to Working on Cruise ships". I got an AMAZING job as a professional shopper. I got to travel the world for free AND get paid to recommend places to shop in the Caribbean! BEST JOB EVER! The e-book was amazing and FILLED with useful information. Hey James I was on board the 30th of jan thru feb 13 but I got terminated because I did int tell them I had add I told them when I was on board but it was to late they got me off the ship I'm so sad I really wanted to work there
