Nora, in "sexy" costume for a church pageant, takes a dare from Ivy to call Compo's bluff and present herself on his doorstep. The unexpected result is that he collapses and has to be rushed to the hospital. Although Clegg and Truly expect the best, Compo dies as the doctors try to save him.
Cleggy and Truly, as well as Nora and Ivy, spend the night remembering him and trying to figure out how to give him a proper send-off.

  • Poor Compo just couldn't handle the pressure of seeing Nora Batty in that costume. And we all know how he felt about Nora.I love to remember the stories rather than his death.Which i know will live on and on.Thanks for uploading.

  • he sure did enjoy life.

  • If Bill Owen had been still in it at the end- though he'd have been going on for 100 by then- the last episode could have been his and Nora Batty's wedding. I think she did come to care for him a bit in the end- she was certainly sad when he died.

  • @verkaforever i used to count down the seconds it took for ivy to hit him with that tray every time

  • @DavidBarker09 Mine too- it was never the same without him.

  • @verkaforever well ivy didnt but compo was my fav charactor coz he was funny

  • @DavidBarker09 I know. But it did happen. The moral of this episode is we should always think before we do things.

  • @verkaforever she didnt expect what happened to happen

  • didn't bill owen his son come into the show ? such sad episode rip bill and compo

  • Ivy should feel guilty. She dared Nora to show herself to Compo in those clothes, which perhaps makes her indirectly responsible for his death.

  • @RomneyGack sir, you are spot on

  • these scenes were really hard for the people who loved Bill Owen. Kathy Staff said somewhere that the cameras had to stop rolling at one point as she shed real tears. The programme was never the same again after that. R.I.P. Bill Owen.
