@jaguarjay13 there is two models, Intel Pentium Dual core E6600 at 3Ghz i think it was, then there is a Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 at 2.4Ghz, and the Core 2 Duo E6600 is way better than the Pentium E6600

put some lights in the room damn it!

@dongman78 well that's pretty obvious as it's a more advanced chip. e6600 vs i7!?..... I bought a zalman for £20 and mine is running @ 3.2 is running cooler now that it was with a stock cooler!

not bad at all ;-)

I thought the E6600 was an intel pentium dual core @ 3.06 GHz

@jaguarjay13 actually it's a 2.4ghz Core 2 duo chip. I overclocked it to 3.6ghz.

thats a sweet rig right there. im getting a rig from a friend with the same cpu and, as i cant afford a water cooler, do you know how effective the arctic freezer cooler pro rev 2 is for overclocing? (i plan to go upto around 3.5GHz by the way)

@blainyrules When I had a Thermaltake typhoon air cooling, I got the e6600 up to 3.4Ghz. If that cooler is better, then maybe you can push it to 3.5Ghz.

@dongman78 yeah, from what ive heard its better, from doing a little bit of browsing ive seen people use the same cooler with heavily overclocked i7 cpus

@blainyrules i7 cpus are better and more consistent overclockers though. Any i7 920/930 cpus almost always hit 4+ Ghz even with air cooling.
