My Dad tells me how he used to walk to school in 3 feet of snow - but the whole country used to carry on with business as usual; not the palaver we see when there's half an inch of snowfall.

Accelerate gently, steer smoothly, allow plenty of braking distance and learn to read the road. Now, when we get a puff of snow, it's DON'T GO OUT! IT'S TERRIBLE OUT THERE!

when men were men life went on todays drivers have no idea they need to rerun this film

Could you imagine if they were here in Canada, where driving in snow is a way of life in the winter. Remember to put on snow tires. And at times waite for the snow plow to go by.

this is when britain used to be britain, not what it is like now!

@sparkygl0s Yes, and that is true of heavy rain too. Wide tyres do last longer but at the expense of poor weather safety. Given that speed limits prohibit the use of the extra dry grip afforded by wide tyres, I have concluded that they are 1/ cosmetic and 2/ a marketing ploy.

@andygin it really is old chap!

@Georgiahulse how times have changed my friend
-
@TheCoalescent because it's a different country, and it's the correct side.

@Georgiahulse And what is even more ironic is that a considerable number of people have 4x4's!
I like the way you've got this onto video. How did you do it because I transfered my 16mm film and it doesn't look as good as this.

I gave the 16mm to a film archive/ library, they transferred to dvd for me.

It looks like the drivers were using parking lights, they should have used dipped headlights.
