  • Thank you so for posting this!

  • Informative video, before watching this I though the 'ram rod' was used to lubricate the barrel with gunpowder, silly me.

At least I can say I've learnt something today, and at 11:59PM as well!

  • the ramrod part shoul've been the most irritating/time consuming...imagine having to pull out this long stick, ram the bullet/gunpowder into the barell, pull the damn thing out again and put it back into its place...now imagine having to do all that quickly/accurately(up to 4 times/min.) in the heat of battle and with the enemy closing...

  • Yeah that was in the first episode, "Sharpe's Rifles", where are Harper was arrested for mutiny, and got released after saving the flag of Santiago.

  • actualy i was wrong it's just a french dragoon not a wolf dragoon.

  • detailed and on the point.

    This is good!

    :D

  • good drill british soldier

  • yeah and also if you watch sharpe patrick harper shows you how to fire a flintlock musket without a ramrod then at one point he actualy does it becuase he's fired his ramroc into the neck of the wolf brigade of the french army.

  • I love the you instructed to spit the ball down the barrel; I always thought it impractical to try and fumble it with your fingers when you could just bite it off and spit it down after you fill you barrel with the powder.

  • Socarulz:

Where would they put the ram rods if they had to use a new one for each shot? Do you know how much weight that would be?
