The Dhammikarama is a Burmese Buddhist Temple & one of the oldest temples in Penang. . Founded in 1803 this is the largest Theravada Buddhist temple in Malaysia.

The temple is one of my favourites and when I am in Penang, I always pay a visit...... Quite quite beautiful & such a tranquil place to make one's devotions...... N

@nfsutton I thank you for making this temple part of your favourite in Penang. Do you know about the building of the Golden Bell Pagoda? Well, FYI, it's grand opening ceremony will be on May 15, 2011.

It is almost finish by now. =)

@nfsutton Oh well, you should visit DBBT (Dhammikarama Burmese Buddhist Temple) soon again. It has a Golden Bell Pagoda now and it is situated at the back of the temple near to the Arahant. It is a separate building of itself. With it's handwork from the Burmese, it is a beautiful artwork of these people and we are grateful for them to bring their skills and architectural to Malaysia to show to the tourist.
