I'm only at the beginning of this part, but it seems to me like maybe she was having an affair/cheating on her bf. Maybe her and someone else was going to spend the week together in a hotel room? Like why else would u be taking a week off? Looking for hotel rooms? Buy booze? C'mon. Maybe she wasn't the angel everyone thought. Sorry.

@ImNotYourFriend212 Good points, I agree. The purchase of all that booze, the calls re hotels, the second time she went off without telling anyone,l the second time she wrecked a car, yes, I agree, she wasn't the angel everyone thought.

@chuckyvee70 Yes, the bus driver was thoroughly checked out, and had nothing to do with the situation. There were also neighbors in the area of the accident who also saw him interact with her, though they don't mention it here.

Anyone know if the investigation into the bus driver's background revealed anything? (I'm guessing nothing significant if he didn't become the primary suspect). That story of his is awfully convenient....

She lost control of her vehicle and crashe it. The bus driver stops and offers to call the police. The last thing she wants is to get caught drinking under the influence and of course she wrecked another car. She lies and says she called AAA. The bus driver takes off to get help and in her drunken, depressed, unstable mental state she walks into the surrounding forrest, where she maybe falls and gets hurt or gets very very lost and is freezing to death, when she calls her finace.

Maura was a perfectionist who always did well and never made mistakes. When she wrecked her dads car the night before she was so upset and felt so guilty. She broke, all the pressure she put on herself to be perfect took it's tole. She decided she needed a break, needed to get away, get drunk and be alone.

She mixes a drink which she consumes while she is driving, She misses the exit she should have taken and continues to drive into an area she is not familiar with.

Personal internal conflicts can reek havoc when you are growing and maturing. One thing is obvious she didn't have any luck with driving. That might indicate her state of mind possibly troubled, deep in thought. She didn't go to her parents or mention anything to them. Perhaps being almost perfect was just too high a price for her to pay. Living up to other peoples ideals can be one pressure too far. In that state she may have been more vulnerable. Very sad.

@mic2005 Yep I agree with you 100%. Some people just can't stand being able to disappoint or deceive others especially the people they love.

i think her father is leaving something out...i think he said something to her in their last conversation that was really hurtful to her and which made her feel unloved. thats why she planned to go those places in NH where she went as a child with her father, to remind her of the good days of their relationship.
