You should watch Lost Highway, Inland Empire, Wild at Heart and Mulholland Drive today; tomorrow maybe too late. But start with Eraserhead. It's the one that bears most affinity to your work, and it's ingenious.
Lynch is one of those American Greats that are too weird for Americans (like Kurt Vonnegut, Philip K. Dick, the beats etc.) and are therefore more respected and popular in Europe than in the U.S. The fact that an artist of your stature has seen only one film by him is proof of that.
