here is a description of the two baritone ukes i use...prices, thoughts, etc.

+ my converted banjo rig.....i like to call it my baritone banjolele :)

as always, i hope you find it helpful, but this is specifically for some folks that have asked me questions over the last few months....i've actually been surprised by a few people being so stoked and interested in getting a baritone uke after seeing some of my vids (i'm stoked when people want to get a uke of any sort eh? eh?)

i almost tried to talk a frustrated guitar player into trying the uke today at the "Guitar Center" but she and her husband left before i could say anything....they probably would've thought i was a quack or something anyway....me? never!!!

conversions of these types are an act of grace....i can only speak a little 'as way opens' to quote my quaker friends....

hugs,

Todd

p.s. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yiAIGLCv-ZU you can read my notes on this vid about the bari if you like.....

key thoughts.... the makala baritone uke is a great one for me 'do not be afraid to haggle/dicker' would you like to see a post on 'haggling?' ha ha find a tenor banjo and convert it to a banjolele...they're great fun :)

  • Awesome ukulele banjo conversion dude.

  • @m34nb34n thanks!

  • Hi Todd, I too have a Lanakai Baritone uke. I like it also. I do go thru strings quite a bit though. Its usually one of the two larger strings. Its funny because they seem to break at night. As opposed to when Im playing it. Is there something about aluminum wrapped strings I could be doing wrong? Thanks Zeb

  • @Zebsachillin i guess check to make sure your tuning is D,G,B,E from top to bottom and maybe try 'Martin Fluorocarbon' baritone uke strings....thanks,

  • you need to get quicker on the humor mate....didn't your mom ever teach you that if you can't say something nice to keep your mouth shut? :)

  • looks like a cereal killer

  • @astroboirap that's no way to speak about a person's instruments mate.... :)

  • I have an L.D. Zerone & Co Baritone Uke. I've had it for about 5 months and LOVE it. It's got a great sound and is solid mahogany. They're not really easy to find..maybe on ebay here and there. But for the price I think they're great.

  • Hi! Thanks a lot for the video. Was what you were playing just general "jammin around" or was it from a particular song? If it's the latter, could you provide tabs please? Sounds way cool!

  • @astroboirap the way u spelt serial killer implies he kills cereals...which im sure he doesn't.

  • @astroboirap Nope. It's much worse than that. He's a hipster.

  • I love your home made uke strap :)
