A medium sized 12 lb Barramundi takes a Heddon Super Spook off the surface while I am slowly walking the dog with it. This fish straightened out the hook, which is why it was able to shake off the lure at the end of the video. I love how their eyes glow green regardless of lighting and how their thick muscular bodes and powerful humped backs are covered with those big round shiny scales. Beautiful creatures, that are a wicked fight on rod and line. Don't worry, the fish was released safely, as are most the fish that I catch.

  • what do u think of the catalyst is it good any complaints

  • @dwai94 I love my inshore Catalyst! I think the higher end Quantums are really very nice reels, but the lower end ones have too many cheap plastic components. Only issue with my reel is that it is a little heavy. But I got used to it, and simply love it. Not a hint of corrosion after 2 years, and I've used it in salt ALOT.. drag and retrieve is still smooth as butter. Caught barracuda, barramundi, calico bass, largemouth bass, bonito, grouper, halibut and more, all on this setup!

  • Greetings from sunny Singapore! That was a great video and I'm sure you guys had loads of fun fishing in Bangkok. Out of curiosity, how would you rate that Quantum Catalyst spinning reel of yours on a scale of 1/10? Its a shame no one sells them in my neck of the woods and I'm looking for some feedback before ordering it online. Thanks a bunch for reading this.

  • @stickbom Hi Mike, Sorry for the late reply! I love my Quantums! I have owned Quantum reels since 10 years ago, and I have loved every one of them. I have to say though, that the cheaper Quantums are not that great in quality, but the more expensive ones are very nice for the money. I love the magnetic bail, and the titanium bail arm. Very smooth retrieve too!

  • Thats a weird looking snook..no stripe...it was in thailand?

  • @MrSnailslayer Thanks for watching, it was not a Snook. It was a Barramundi, a popular game fish in Asia and Australia.

  • What a Bad Ass Game Fish! Sick bro, topwater rules!

  • Nice fish and way to "walk the dog" with the zara spook. I use both the zara spook and also use Quantum baitcasters and the more expensive quatum spinning reels. I really like the magnetic bail return. No more broken bail return springs. No 1 reason for putting down a reel was the return spring would break and make the reel useless. Good luck my friends in Thailand!

  • Thanks for the reply! I should be buying the Catalyst or Energy for my saltwater lure casting. Will let you know how they work out. Have a great weekend ahead!
