As hard as it is to understand, it's not always a good idea to take literary texts literally - like comedies, Bible, etc. I don't think it's even how people in England take such things. Looks like more of a North American tradition... Correct me if I'm wrong...

@rebop1964 In english, we have a generic word for meat. It is the word "meat". We also have a specific word for lamb. Know what it is? "Lamb".

@j0ofez no the point is that in English the term "meat" includes lamb, while in Greek it doesn't.
