The ISI (Pakistani intelligence) is arming, supplying, trainig and harbouring the taliban now, of course the taliban wouldn't last on their own, the taliban do support al-qaeda and were responsible for harbouring osama bin laden for a number of years there is more than enough dirt to go to war with them, also the taliban treated the people of Afghanistan like shit and the afghans needed to be liberated
