  • Do you think a Guttenberg Bible from the end of the 15th century would make a good starter material for this project. I got one, but someone called Martin Luther scribbled all over it...

  • @BorisCr lol

  • I have a question: how do you store it without smashing the paper?

  • @genmama1955 ... I store mine under the stairs. I have friends who hang theirs in their homes - they take off the center if it looks too "holiday" and use tiny pine cones or walnut shells or other winter goodies to fill the center. Then it becomes an year-round decorative piece. Any other ideas?? What would you fill the center with to make it an all-year look?

  • When you said you were going to use a Groves Dictionary, I almost stopped breathing!!! (I have a degree in music) That book was an invaluable source for me while writing theses, etc. But guess what! There are newer editions! So I am giving myself permission to use an old book to make one of these gorgeous wreaths! It is so beautiful!

  • @genmama1955 .. I am so glad you said that! I started to read your comment and my pulse stopped fearing I had made an enemy! The spine was broken on the book I found at a $1 book sale and it was falling apart .. but has been reincarnated into a wreath that has been appreciated by so many :) Thank you, Mr Grove's !!

  • Don't hate me for asking, The design is absolutely gorgeous but the thought of destroying an old book for a wreath is something I can't do, so there has to be another way to get the same effect.

  • @Hochichin ... I can say this 1,000 times - but the book I bought was a broken spined poor old thing - and it cost $1. I get your pain though. I love books. But to answer your query? SURE! Use sheet music, colored paper, wrapping paper, old bags - whatever works!!!

  • @Hochichin Magazines!

  • @BorisCr LMAO! Good one!

  • Very good idea

  • So the finished product looked ok but destroying a book to create something that disposable seems like a waste to me. Not something I would be doing.

  • sack Butt :P

  • Sehr schöne Idee, werde ich ausprobieren. Danke!!

  • you destroyed a book for that shit.. D: ! oh GOD...

  • People are getting upset about destroying an old book?? I don't see anyone say anything when they set down in molded, damp basements.
