  • @matteriaa I don't mean to spam you, but I think it's important- the reason I developed that obsession with thinness was due to that harmful, oversimplified view of health. You can be fat and get great sleep, ride your bike and walk everywhere, be strong as a bull, loving your body, actively pursuing things that excite you in your life, while providing your body with vegetables, grass-fed meats, fats, shellfish and other nutritionally dense foods. You can be thin and eat nothing but mac and che

  • @matteriaa @matteriaa I respectfully disagree. Wann is not promoting fatness as an ideal like thinness is an ideal, she is attempting to pull apart the ridiculous dichotomy altogether. We know that thinness does not equal health. I was at a 19 bmi last year and would be considered a 'healthy weight' but my restrictive eating lead to depression, anxiety, no energy, and the way I was heading would have damaged my body extensively, even be just as much at risk for 'fat people diseases'.

  • I see two jackasses and one smoking hot chick in the middle

  • @medislamara tragic that ppl don't have the willpower to discipline themselves enough to avoid obesity, much less overweightness.

No it really is, because of the underlying reasons people choose to do it to themselves. Idk who Marilyn Wann is but I dont think she's doing anybody a favor by being a fatness 'activist.' If u r overweight u should find out what it is that makes u turn to junk food for comfort and confront that, because the sooner u do the sooner u will feel better

  • Fat alone CAN'T make you fat. Humans lack a hormone to store dietary fat as bodyfat. It's metabolically inert if eaten on it's own. You can even eat a calorie surplus of fat and not gain weight as long as it's only fat/protein (no carbs). Without carbs there is no insulin release, and no fat storage. You can eat a solid 1 lb block of pure lard and not gain a gram of weight off it. Eat 1 lb of carbs and your body stores the unburned carbs as bodyfat thru insulin, the fat storage hormone.

  • @fireout700 I am pretty sure there are some ways YOU cost the health care system that is comparable to fat people. Do you really want to get into this? I promise you you'll get owned.

  • @barrybear2011 The Nazis also said things like "the music of Brahms is great"……… clearly anyone who says they like Brahms is an EVIL NAZI!!!!!!!

  • 'Stop hating us. Please.' Tragic that they even have to plead for respect in a last-ditch attempt to show people what it's all about: removing ideas and abstract concepts from our bodies, which are culturally constructed (though the mental anguish that follows as a result is very real) and loving your body as you experience it. Since I've started loving my body I no longer binge eat and my weight has settled somewhere that feels right for me. Body-shaming helps no one.
