So, my boss asked me to speak at a conference in Malaysia in regards to orality and storying. After he asked me, I looked to see what other countries my plane might fly through. I actually thought it was going to be Korea, but it turned out, going through Taiwan was cheaper. It also turned out that its really cheap to fly from Malaysia to Indonesia, and also cheap to travel and stay there (if you do it the local way!).

Needless to say, the conference in Malaysia went really well. Some hard questions from experienced third-world workers, and some good encouragement and interest in storying work from others! It was great to see Muriel and several others I have met in my travels.

After the conference, I had hoped to meet up with some storying teams in Indonesia, but that didnt work out. However, I still had an amazing time in Indonesia, travelling the local bus, hanging out with some beautiful children, and getting a glimpse of that little corner of the world.

I then headed to Taiwan, where friends of friends here in Delaware hosted me on the way in and out of the city. Turned out my friend Sean also got to come and hang out for a few days! We had great conversations with our host family and tons of fun hiking around the river and the gorge.

I am so thankful for the new friends who helped me in one way or another along my journey, and hope to see them again someday. Whether in a bus, plane or motorbike, I watched God carry me through in each situation over the past 2 weeks, and I am so thankful for His company every step of the way. I hope to write a few more blog entries on my adventures, but well see how soon I get to them!

Overall, in the past 2 weeks: I spent 51 hours in different planes, in 4 countries, and 7 airports. I spent about 15 total hours in a bus, and 9 hours in a car. I slept in 5 different beds, and attempted to learn phrases in 3 different languages. I thoroughly enjoyed my time and while I am thankful to rest for a little while now, I cant wait to do it again!
