In our obscure community, there lives a police officer and a poet, a nurse and a bohemian barista, two very different army sergeants, a tattoo artist and a mother of two...just to name a few. We are of varied age, gender, nationality, religion, social position, shape and temperament, yet there is one element that connects and unites us all: the language we choose to speak...

Oodles of thanks to everyone who helped me bust this thing out after finding out about such an extraordinary project two weeks before the deadline--but most of all, to my awesome bud Lyman who created the music for it. Check out his stuff at:

  • I recently took up the dance. it is the only thing I have found in over two years that helps my sciatic nerve, relieving me of the pain I live with from morning to night.

Your thoughts, impressions, and wishes come through in this story. You've done a beautiful job of explaining why it is we all turn into the music and let it transform us through the dance.

  • Hear-hear! I'd much rather dance than do physical therapy any day! Or any sort of therapy that there is out there, for that matter...it cures a great many ills! So glad you enjoyed it! Take care and happy dancing!

  • Thank you so much for posting this.

I have danced here and there and I have been dancing with my troupe for almost a year now and it means so much to me. It is helping me to find myself after a long-term break up and to believe in the power within.

Thank you for posting this, it is an inspiration and a joy to hear your message.

  • Indeedy--this dance does that. Through all of the ups and downs, it is the one thing that remains with me, and it is the glue when I'm falling apart. So glad you dug it!

  • Thankyou,so much for the inspiration to keep going on.......this was sent to me by jamilajen when I needed it most. At my age (59) and health, I was almost ready to say I give, but now I am going to dance for me and for as long as I can....Thankyou my dear friends of the dance........Najida Razi

  • You are so welcome! With as many injuries as I have, I find that there is always some sort of dance I can do. Perhaps not the glam, acrobatic, uber-energizer-bunny ones that I've done before, but there is always a dance to be done. Keep it up, sister!

  • thank you...:)

  • FANTASTIC.

  • As a habitual gusher, I'll just say Wow, YES! and you can take the rest of the superlatives as said. BTW, really enjoyed the veils workshop and your performance at Majma. Thank you (again!).

  • Thank you so much for posting this. It was a beautiful video that I will often reference when I need an uplift in spirit. :)
