  • Is it just me or does BNSF and CN share some of their tracks?

  • yeah, kinda, CN has trackage rights on some BNSF and BNSF has trackage rights on some CN.

  • ic, thanks for answering my question. By the way, do you see a future when BNSF and CN Merge? I know they have tried to do that once.

  • No problem. Ya know, I wouldn't be suprised if they at least try it again. They share some lines by way of trackage rights, the BNSF actually runs a lot of CN grain trains, and it wouldn't suprise me at all if they try again some day.

  • Well, all railroads been doing that since the 70s. I do miss the legendary Great Northen and Northen Pacific Railway. (Even though they have been gone before I was born.)

  • Yeah, me too. One thing is certain though, with soaring gas prices, there is gonna be a greater and greater demand for trains. We used to have only 2 road freights a day on this line every day, now we have between 3-6. Too bad they ripped out a lot of these old lines, a l;ot of them could probably still be in use today had they left them in.
