Les francs-juges is the title of an unfinished opera by the French composer Hector Berlioz written to a libretto by his friend Humbert Ferrand in 1826. The opera itself was abandoned by Berlioz, who destroyed most of the music. He did, however, retain the overture which has become a popular concert item in its own right and some other musical material was reused in later compositions.

  • Francesca da Rimini please!!!

  • @lewars1912, hahahaha, then your moree knowledgeable then me ;) with unknown stuff i generally mean music/composers, that you might only know when you look a little deeper into this specific part of musical history and where knowing about them cannot really be seen as general knowledge

  • This Overture always reminds me that Berlioz was probably a bit crazy, or at least not what most people would think of as normal, lol, however I do like a lot of his music.

  • @Ghruul This isn't "unknown stuff." I know it. (:o(
