As I see some of the video clips of 80's music and artists, I keep seeing a lot of comments being posted about the music of that era. Many of them relating how much they miss the music from that time. There really was something special about the 80's, specifically concerning the music that was being recorded. It seemed to be a time when music was colorblind. It didn't really matter whether the artist was black, white, etc., as long as the music was good. And much of it was, unlike today's music.

@maxfrenzi They really, really, REALLY were! It seemed like this time was THE time, and always would be, and then it turned into the 90's just like that, and then all of a sudden you turn around and we're here and now, in this mess! What happened?!

@ANOTHERHOLEINYOHEAD - Prince would not have done that & as you can see, Jesse can front his own situation. Besides, at that time Prince wasn't trying to have "Another Star" in his road Band....And Prince changed his bands up frequently. ( No job security)...Jesse didn't need the Revolution once he got going.

@Blkday64 - Partially true...there are still a lot Of Up-&-Coming Musicians/ R&B-Nu Soul & Jazz-funk bands out there that write Great New Music NOW-Today!! The problem is that Major Labels & Mainstream Radio turned their

back on Black Bands back in '98...some "Suits" decided that Urban music = Rap/Hip-hop. As a result, the Funk & R&B went Indie/Underground...They won't sign Black Bands. I think the last 2 were Toni tony tone & Mint condition( American)

@Blkday64 well i think its more of a rumor, those beats are pretty basic,but funky.dre and alot of producers sampled just about everything from p funk,but i know ice cube did work with george on a song or two.but rap,hiphop,r&b,jazz,etc. its all from the same pot.its just when sampling was legal anybody could loop someones song and throw a beat behind it,and hey your making music....peace brotha

@Blkday64 oh ive heard of it part sampler,seqencer,drum machine,but pro tools,fl studio,reasons,are kings in music making today.remember back in the day when every musician&singer recorded all at the same time. then came track machines,then seqencers,etc..all which made making music alot easier,so it was the technoliogy that changed everything. but to say dr.dre doesnt have much talent as andre cymone? think about that one

@Blkday64 well we dont use drum machines anymore,its all music programs,computers.samplers.bu­t to say you dont need much talent to rap is wrong.you gotta have skills to rap,just like a singer.there good ones and bad ones.if it was that easy every fool out here would be making money from hiphop.music is music regaurdless how its made

In the 80's men could getaway with wearing makeup, womens jewery, jeri curls, and to some insents; womens clothing. But thats what it was like back in the 80's, to get a pretty ass female, you needed to be pretty your damd self.
