In 2009, the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) updated its recommendations for screening healthy women using mammography. George Sawaya, MD, a UCSF professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences, and Epidemiology and Biostatistics, was a member of the task force that developed the updated recommendations. Hear some of his thoughts on the rationale for the changes, and the role of science in advancing change in clinical practice. Video shot by Educational Technology Services: http://edtech.ucsf.edu/
