A guy outside On Deck came outside and wanted to fight me with a ball from the pool table. Sometimes violence downtown is just drunken nonsense.

he probably ran his mouth in the back to the people who are responsible for this people don't beat u up because you are gay but for money/robbery or running your mouth too much I know the streets of this city because I've walked them for 6+ years

man, i hear alot of ppl getting jumped in thunder bay...3, or 4 my my friends got jumped. my brother almost jumped by 2 guys, but he managed to beat them both up. i almost got kicked in the head one night, but i dodged it quickly...i wanted to fight, but he had 6 other guys with him. so i didnt wanna fight. ...long story short..i always tense up before i go out. ..thunder bay isnt that bad though..i think ppl are agressive in tbay, is because there so isolated in this town.

..and then we find out he was the one who started the whole thing. yet, the whole city rallies behind him. bullshit.

the point is getting out there and being heard and supporting.
"Be the change you want to see in the world."
So it wasn't a waste of time, if one person speaks up others will :)

I went to high school with one of the guys on here who is defending himself/his friends (he used his real name in is username). One of the worst high schools to go to if you were LGBT, even though they supposedly had a 'no tolerance policy.' It seems things don't change after high school for some people. They keep being close-minded; probably because they are afraid of their own sexuality (ie: they are gay themselves).

@D7NEWTON7 Thank you, this is very true. The entire protest was a waste of time and made Thunder Bay look horrible.
nobody ever deserves that. I dont think they did it because hes gay. He was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. You just cant trust those people.

Jake didn't lie about anything. It's the police who failed him.
