For Daz Studio users, i wrote a free script that creates dynamic-cloth-like animations by copying keyframes from one node ( ex: a hip ) to another node ( ex: a dress ) with a delay

my very safe site with no popups where you can download this script and oh so many wonderful others :)

the script is named mcjLagEffect
http://sites.google.com/site/mcasualsdazscripts/mcjlageffect

music is a remix of the song Ophelia by Musetta
"Ophelia's Song (DNA Remix)"
by DNA

The sword-wielding animation was derived
from motion capture (mocap) recorded
at the Carnegie Mellon University Graphics Lab
The collection of the data in this database was supported by NSF Grant #0196217.

The BVH files vas reprocessed by Bruce Hahne at
http://sites.google.com/a/cgspeed.com

The BVH was further processed using Animeeple
at http://www.animeeple.com/

the tanktop worn by Amy (Aiko3) is by littledragon

  • Thanks for the link to this. I'm using DS advanced 3.0,and I can't get it to move like your vid at all.I followed the manual, but the skirt stays static.Do I need a newer version of DS for this to work?Any help would be appreciated.

  • @Foinked

it should work even older DS3.

if you use the skirt i supplied on my site, make sure it's parented to Aiko's hip, so that when the hip moves the skirt follows. select the skirt then use Daz Studio's "Create / d-Form" menu. By default, the d-Form Field is not properly positioned, move it so that it's centered on the bottom of the skirt. The d-form's Base should be moved up to the waist. Animate your character .Select the d-Form, (it's our follower node) launch mcjLagEffect

  • Amzing what people can do these days.

b.t.w. i used the free version of Daz Studio to make this, you can get it at daz3d dot com. Since recently the basic characters are free, in the web site's store. Elsewhere on the net there's some clothes and hair you can find for free.

  • Better and better Jacques, great Musak too Dude

  • @3DDodger

    thanks :)

initially i created the moves for the next video which will be technical,

but to be sure people would not skip it, i made it into this video :)
